<p>I thought it would be really cool to get in contact with a doctor who is conducting research at a laboratory to ask if there is anyway I can do to help them. I did some research and contacted a few professors at colleges in NYC. I read up about the research they have done and the current research they are doing now. </p>
<p>I knew that when I sent out the emails (being just in my 2nd year in hs) that I wouldn’t be a big contributing factor to the research they do, mainly because stuff they do is way beyond any material they teach at school. But I definitely want the experience of working/being in a real laboratory.</p>
<p>So, for anyone that has done research with a doctor, how was your experience? What did you do? Did you get anything published? How did you get in contact with the doctor in the first place (i.e through family connections)?</p>
