A friend was invited to join a d2 reserve squad? What does that mean?
Most likely no money, won’t see the field, won’t travel with the team.
This is not all bad (see movie Rudy). We have a team member who game to our school as a grad student, but happened to have played for the coach when she was in youth sports many years ago. Just a sports coincidence that they ended up at the same school many states away from their original contact. She asked if she could join the team and never expected to play on game day, but the team is small and she does get to play when the team is many points ahead.
