residence after the first year

I’ve read here that the vast majority of students find off-campus housing after the first year. Is this generally the case for transfers as well? If so, how easy/hard have other transfers have found the social transition?

Only first-years live in residence, not sure if that applies to transfers. I’d guess that no.

The social transition shouldn’t be that big a deal. Sure, one meets a lot of people in residence, but I personally feel most of those social relationships don’t last much beyond first year. The friends you make will mostly be from classes (if they are small classes), clubs you join, events, etc.

So yeah, everyone moves out and lives off-campus, and not everyone get apartments with friends, so your experience will not be that different from all others.

If anything, you won’t have Frosh oddities to brag about =P
