Residence Hall Linens - They don't fit

Everyone shopping for dorm linens -

Just a heads up - we recently purchased a package of linens from RHL.org for our daughter attending Barrett, The Honors College at ASU. The fitted sheets that were guaranteed to fit were way to small for the beds in the Cereus dorm.

Of course the company is willing to take the items back, but that doesn’t help you when you are rushing around trying to get the dorm room set up.

Guaranteed to fit doesn’t necessarily mean they will. Be advised.

Most schools tell you ahead of time if you need twin, or extra-long twin.

Also-the sheets we ordered through the company that evidently had arranged to advertise through our school’s mailing list were stiff and scratchy, even after several washings. You can do much better for the same or a lower price at Target, BB&B, or any number of other stores.

Since getting everyone in the family some sort of pad for the top of their beds, most of our older sheets didn’t fit. I looked around for some sheets that specified deep pockets or labeled “fits beds up to 18 inches deep”. I found a great set of Jersey sheets on clearance at B,B & Beyond that are so soft and comfortable. From now until the end of the month should be great time to get sheets on clearance.

I think there have been many recommendations on previous threads to avoid those sheets that come with the dorm info. There are much better sheets for less at Target, BB&B and other places and you can arrange pick up or deliveries as needed.

And while we’re on the subject, what up with all the extra-long beds most colleges seem to have? Are taller kids that much harder to accomodate or what?

^^mother of a 6’4" son—yes!

Normal twin is 75 inches long; an XL bed is 80 inches long. If there is a foot board in place, anyone 6 ft tall or taller is going to have trouble in a standard twin.

Did you find sheets for her that fit? If not the Mesa BBB is a good one if she can get over there. My dd is in Hassy and everything fit perfectly from BBB.
