Residency Application

Ok so I applied Nov 22 and haven’t gotten a respose yet. That’s ok since its only been l2 or 3 weeks. But they sent me an residency application since I’m not a US citizen. Does this mean that my application cannot be prossessed until they recieve my application, or is this independent of the application. I am a MI resident, no doubt about it. Except to Umich.

hullo? What does it mean?

Just because you live and go to HS, have a driver’s license and register to vote in Michigan do not necessarily mean that you are considered a resident for in-state tuition. There are some unique requirements such as you must live in the state not primarily for education purpose, or your parents live and work in Michigan for the past 12 months, etc.

It may be nothing more than just a routine inquiry, as they may just red-flag you as you are not a US citizen. It should be easy to fill in the residency form as you are sure you are a MI resident.

Suggest you complete and send in the residency form asap… your application may be put on hold pending that as residency is a key factor in your admission decision.
