My son was accepted into early college last year as a freshman. He lives with his father who moved out of the district but still has his parents address as their place of residency. If he gets caught will my son get into trouble for his father’s actions?
Is this a high school question? It’s in the colleges forum.
Yes, it will not go well for your son if he is caught.
Google Kelley Williams-Bolar & Tanya McDowell, who went to jail for doing that.
Even if it is his father who is falsifying information?
Yes he’s in high school but he does not attend the school, he either is bussed to the college or his dad takes him. He was accepted into early college I believe through a scholarship.
If your son is an adult, he could be held liable for this even though it was a parent who set him up. Even as a minor, there will be consequences.
What the consequences could be and then would be, depends upon the area courts. Around here, you have to pay the back tuition for an out of district student as well as some penalty fee and court charges. Transcripts of the student are held until acceptable payments are made. Kid kicked out of school until account made current and tuition paid for current year.
Thank you for the information. He just turned 15 maybe a month ago. I was just looking into this for his sake.
