<p>Parent here. From what I recall of our tour two summers ago, WUSTL doesn’t have residential colleges, but the admissions packet refers to the south 40 residences in that manner. Does “residential college” mean “freshmen dorm” in WUSTLese?</p>

<p>a rescollege is a just a freshman/upperclassman dorm pairing. freshman (which get automatic housing) can apply to transfer directly to their associated upperclassman dorm as long as they room with other people within the rescollege. Therefore preference is given for those staying within the rescollege</p>

<p>Too many schools segregate freshman in the housing units. Another plus for WUSTL.</p>
