Residential life question!

Is their any benefit to living in a Residential Community such as Residential Initiative on the Study of the Environment (RISE) or the Residential Experience for Spartan Engineers? I got a letter from both programs and was wondering if either of these are better than just living in Brody with all the freshman. I dont want to miss out on the whole freshamn college experience though (social life). I am going for engineering major. I was wondering which program would be better/ give me an edge when deciding for plays after college, either graduate school or going straight to work.

As someone in the Residential College of Arts and Humanities, I can tell you that I have absolutely loved it. The majority of the people here have very similar interests and it just makes it much easier to make friends I think. Plus you get to connect with people that have similar career goals as yourself. As for grad school, I’m honestly not sure but it would show a definite passion for the field you are going into. Later in life, the connections you’ve made could potentially help you land a job in that particular field.

Hope that makes sense. All in all, there is no harm in doing either of those residential experiences and I would highly recommend.

Thank you, I am almost positive that I am going to do some sort of residential experience no matter where I go. Like you said, there is no harm in doing it and being with people with similar interests and career goals will help me positively
