Response Letter to a Waitlist

When given the opprtunity to write something to the director of a program, do you keep it vague or express your interest with detail to that particular program? As a business owner myself I want to pick employees that really seem to want the job but am learning that my child and perhaps great future staff prefer to appear shy or less pushy? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS TO THIS? What seemed to work for your family if you already have a student attending a university for MT.

Thanks

My daughter sent an email when she was wait listed for one of her top choices. She expressed her interests and desire to attend if she was accepted. She later came off the wait list. Not sure if the letter was the reason.

^ ^ ^ If, indeed, it is true that you would absolutely commit if moved off a waitlist into the accepted pile, I think that’s a great selling point. Let the school know that they are your first choice if that’s the case.

I worked in alumni admissions for my college and if a kid said: “you are my number one choice and if admitted, I will absolutely attend” they were definitely given extra consideration.
