Rest in Peace, Maya Angelou

We’ve lost a very inspirational lady. I always took something away every time I heard her speak. What a wonderful life she led.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/28/us/maya-angelou-obit/index.html?hpt=hp_t2</a></p>

One of my favorite quotes is from her:
“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.”

She was truly one of the people who lived by this. Such an inspiration and such a loss. May she rest in peace.

“I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” helped me to begin healing from my incest-ridden childhood.

Oh, she will be missed. “If someone shows you who they are, believe them.” MA

So much wisdom from one special person! Rest in peace.

“Be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” RIP

No longer caged, the bird now sings in her own paradise. RIP. And thank you.

I had the great privilege of hearing her speak in 2008 at the National PTA convention. She was a truly pheonomenal woman and will be greatly missed. Appropriately, here she is reading her poem, “Phenomenal Woman,” from Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.

LOL I started a thread on this earlier today-- no one posted :frowning: <a href=“RIP Maya Angelou - Parent Cafe - College Confidential Forums”>RIP Maya Angelou - Parent Cafe - College Confidential Forums;

RIP. She is one of many of my favorite writers who has died in the past year, though many were more known for their writings in Spanish.

She was a titan and a great American.
