Restricted EA Question

I am struggling with terminology. My son intends to apply EA to Yale. Is it a violation to apply “priority” to Princeton as well.
Thanks for your patience with this terminally thick mum.

I don’t know what you mean by “priority”. Both Y & P are Single Choice EA, so they do not permit applying early to any other schools (with a few exceptions). Here is Y’s policy:

[Single-Choice Early Action for Freshman Applicants | Yale College Admissions](http://admissions.yale.edu/scea)

Thanks so much for your reply. Princeton lists both a restricted EA date of 11/1 and a priority date of 12/15. It is my hope that applying before the priority date will not jeopardize EA at Yale. There is no designation on Princeton’s application for “priority” status, so it appears to be part regular decision. Just trying to make sure.

That date is just a suggested deadline for regular decision so you are fine. See below:

December 15: Recommended application submission date for Regular Decision applicants.

January 1st is the final deadline for regular decision.

[Princeton University | Application Dates & Deadlines](http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/deadlines/)

Since the P priority date is for RD it’s not a problem. Ys SCEA only restricts early admissions, so you can apply to RD whenever you want.

Thanks so much for your help. Guess all mums are overly nervous.
