Result threads

I posted a couple chance threads, so to give back I will give my result thread for those looking forward.

EFC: 28,00

Hook: recruited athlete, minority, single mom

EC: National ranking in my sport, varsity athlete with all district honors as a freshman forward, rotary club, national latin club, fishing club officer(nominated and voted in without knowing), 8 hours community service(lol)

GPA: 3.4 uw, I had 3.5 first two years 2.5 second year 4.0 4th year

SAT: 610 reading, 620 math, 570 writing

I took 7 ap classes and had the most rigorous course schedule

I applied to and got results from

Net cost is before loans and work study

Kenyon ED2- Rejected, it was expected

Earlham College EA- Accepted with 21,000 scholarship and grants bringing down net cost to 28,000

Allegheny College EA- Accepted with 19,000 scholarship and grants bringing net cost to 33,000

Cornell College- Accepted with 18,000 scholarship and grants bringing net cost to 35,000

College of Wooster- Accepted with 22,500 scholarship and no grants for a net cost of 38,000

I appealed financial aid decision only at Earlham due to circumstances, and they gave me an extra 6,600 in grants which was more than any school was willing to match or come down to.

Long story short, Earlham gave me the most money, and was helpful in my appeal as compared to other schools like Wooster which capped it at 30,000 and would not offer more money than that.

Hope this helps future students!

Is your EFC 28,000 or 2,800?

You got some good deals, did you send in your SAT score to Earlham since it is test optional?
Just wondering but how much did Earlham give you in grants?
