<p>I was thinking of starting a counter-chances thread where current and rising college students post their stats and their college of matriculation.</p>
<p>I hope, with this thread, to dispel some myths:</p>
<li>That you need shining, sparkling, stellar SAT scores to even think about elite schools.</li>
<li>That you need to be involved with 3,000 activities to be even considered.</li>
<li>That you can only find driven, motivated, talented students at elite schools.</li>
</ol>
<p>I realize that I myself don’t feel comfortable having my entire profile out on the internet, but I will say that I got into my first and only choice, UChicago, with a 2070 on the SAT (1420/1600), simple EC’s that I devoted a decent amount of time to, a strong overall academic record at a school that regularly sends student to top schools, and good essays and recs.</p>
<p>No magic potion, no secret study skills. Just me being me.</p>
