Resume Help

If you plan on professionally going by a different name than your own (stage name) is it a good idea to put that or your birth name on your headshot and resume when it comes to college auditions?

It’s probably safe to assume that the name one the resume/headshot should match the one you put on your college application, transcripts, letters of recommendation etc.

Definitely match your “official” name for college purposes…stage name can come later.

Use your birth name. BTW, until you have appeared in court to change your name and/or filed a DBA (doing business as) with the county clerk, and.or incorporated yourself - you should use your real name lest you find you have difficulty cashing your check.

I would use my birth name for the auditions. Just to be safe.
Once you get to the school that best fits you, talk to them about transitioning into a stage name!

Definitely use your legal name for anything involving academics. In school productions, they should give you the option to write out your name as you want to appear on the program.
