Retake a screwup 690 MathII and 650 Physics? Applying to some good schools.

Hey guys. I’m applying to some good schools, and quite a few of them need SATII’s. I took Math II and Physics in Oct. 07, and quite succintly, I fooked up. I took ‘em as standby, and planned to do this only a week before the test. I know, I know, I should’ve been more aware, etc., but a combination of a hectic work schedule, stupid guidance counselors, and finances dictated that date and I had to take em’. Thing is, I only got about 4 hours to study. Point is, I had my head in five different places at once and couldn’t focus. Yea, I did good alright. If you take a look at my chances, you can see my other scores, which are helluva lot better than my SATII’s.

Anyway, so far I got into Penn State, deferred from Cornell, and hope I get into the others. Do you guys think I should retake?

Definitely retake them.
They are both tests on which you should score 800.

I guess so. Now, by 800, do you mean I am bound to get that due to my other scores…or because that’s what’s needed for the schools I’m applying to?

I’m so happy that I don’t have to submit my SAT or II’'s to Gtech or UT. Awesome.

Thanks. Now I know the question has been asked a thousand times, but I’m in a rush and too busy to look: Which would be the best book for me? I’m figuring I have less than a month, already pretty competent with physics, and I’m in AP Calc. I want to learn what’s needed for the test and that’s that…no superficial crap I don’t need like many of the Barron’s books.

Thanks again for your help.

Er, no, that’s not what I mean.
If you want to be considered a strong competitor, you should score 800s on those exams. Many, many candidates have such scores for these two tests. They also have very generous curves.

Use Princeton Review for both subjects.
