I scored a 10 on the ACT Writing, but only a 27 on the composite. I plan to retake the ACT to improve my composite, but I do not want to retake the writing portion. I already sent the score above to Vanderbilt, so is it ok to take just the ACT from here on out?

Is this correct?: You want to retake the act to update them with your new score, but not take the writing and have them count your best scores from each section?
From their website:
So no.

Your 10 should be fine–it’s the 27 you need to worry about.

My daughter was accepted last year with an 8 on writing, however, she had a 33 composite.
