So I’m a 10th grader and I recently got my scores back for my SAT 2 Math 2c test. I got a 770, which was slightly disappointing, as I was really aiming to get a perfect score. I had to self-study for the pre-calculus and trigonometry portion of the exam, since I haven’t learned it before preparing for the test. My dream schools are UC Berkeley and UCLA, and I want to pursue a major in Computer Engineering. Should I consider retaking the test to get a perfect score, after I get a better understanding of pre-calculus and trigonometry? Or will my score be able to compete with the competition of UCs?
UCs care more about GPA than they do test scores. A 770 is sufficient enough. And please don’t retake. I got a 770 on this test too, retook it, and got another 770. It’s a waste of a Saturday morning. Build up your profile instead of sitting in a room taking some test that isn’t even required.
You’re only a sophomore. Maybe you can retake it at the end of junior year if you really want, once you’ve learned all the material. But a 770 is a great score.
