Retake SAT I/II for UC's?

Should I retake the SAT I and/or II for the more competitive UC's like UCLA, UCSD, or UC Berkeley? (I'm leaning more towards UCLA and UCSD but am open to suggestions for other schools.) I am also a resident of California.

My SAT Scores:
Total 1370 (1240 1st time)
Math - 700 (660 1st time)
Verbal - 670 (580 1st time)

SAT II:
Math IIC - 710
US History - 680
Writing - 690

My GPA is about 3.59 unweighted for 10th and 11th grade UC approved classes. (I think weighted would be about 3.95) (I know this is pretty low but I go to a difficult school.)
I have taken Geometry Honors, Chemistry Honors, and Pre-Calculus Honors and earned 5's in AP US History and AP European History.
I am currently taking AP Economics, AP Psychology, and AP Calculus AB.

My EC/Volunteering:
Volunteers Club 9th - 12th
Pre-Med Club - 10th - 12th (currently treasurer)
Chinese Club - 10th - 11th
CSF member - 11th - 12th
Volunteered about 60 hours in a hospital this summer

Please give me some feedback. Thanks

My advice would be to retake whichever you think you could improve the most. I don't think you need to do both, but if you feel that you could improve either the SAT I or a couple of the SAT II's dramatically, that would be a good idea. Either would probably help if you could boost it a good deal, but unless you think you can get a significant increase, it's probably not worth it.

UCSD, you've got a good shot in any major, except biomed engineering--that's a pain in the *ss to get into. UCLA is an iffy...

If you're SET on UCLA or Berkeley, I say, work your *ss off and get 700+s on all of those nasty SAT II's. That way, you don't have to worry. Take the Bio or Chem SAT II, they're both stupid easy. Or get a Ti-89 and plow your way through the Math IIC.

SATIIs for UC.

SAT II's for sure. your SAT is good enough, because you are a cali resident

UCLA: Match
UCSD: Safe Match

I would retake the SAT IIs, but your scores aren't bad to begin with.

UCs do semester weighting for AP classes, so keep that in mind.

sat2's, your sat1 is fine, but the 680 and 690 are a bit low

Thanks for the replies. Is a 690 in writing really that bad? It's still above the 680 exemption for the placement test. Can I take math ic as a 3rd subject? Any suggestions for any other good match schools?

tlaktan- what do you mean by UC's do semester weighting for AP's? You basically get one point for each semester of honors or AP's with a limit of 8 points right?

Anyone please respond?

I think you're right about the UC system of weighting.

Unfortunately, you can't take IC as a third SAT II (you have to take one of the math tests, the Writing test and a third SAT II that isn't either, for admission in the fall of 2005).

Are you talking about the November or December date b/c then you could retake both
