<p>Do adcoms read into retaking tests at all? Is retaking to raise a 700 CR a bad idea if math and writing are solid (770, 790)? I am looking into ivies, ND, Northwestern, MIT, Duke, UChicago for math/sci/engineering majors.</p>

<p>My son got into MIT & Caltech with a 700 CR, 700 writing & 790 math. He had 800’s on the SAT II’s. If you look at the MIT website I know they say that they look at anything 700 & above as being essentially the same. I don’t know about the other schools.</p>
