Retaking a course

Hi, I assume to fail a class that I’m currently taking, so I will have to retake the course.

I understand the most recent grade will be calculated into the GPA, but I’m not sure how many units are being counted on my cumulative units.
For example: after I receive the final grade of a 4-unit course I retake, will the cumulative units be +4 or +8?

This is pretty important to me because I may exceed the unit ceiling. Please let me know if anyone has experienced this!

I seriously doubt if in your example, it would be +8. That wouldn’t make any sense. When you repeat, it’s more or less as if you’ve taken the class only once (in this case).

“If you repeat more than 12 units, your grade-point average is based on all grades assigned and total units attempted.”

It’s fine unless if you failed more than 12 units worth of classes. Simply at +4.
