Retaking Gen Chem Lab

Hi- I am a cog sci major at an Ivy League school. I got a D+ in gen chem II lab (due to various personal issues that have resolved), and I am wondering if it is worth retaking it. I hope to get into a neuroscience grad program (or related cognitive science, psychology, etc. program) and I am not pre-med.

This summer, I am deciding between the following summer classes:

-Gen Chem II Lab (Retake)
-Molecular Biology Lab (probably more relevant to neuroscience)
-Multivariable Calculus

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice on which option is best for a prospective neuroscience/psychology grad school student?

Thanks

What does your advisor suggest? Surely the people in your department know what is required for grad admission, and what isn’t.

The problem is that my adviser is the director of the cog sci department. His background is in experimental philosophy, pretty far removed from neuroscience as far as cog sci sub-disciplines go. He suggested that research matters more than grades, but I still care about grades and the classes I’ve taken!

Then speak with some of the other faculty members whose interests are closer to yours.

Can you (re)take Chem Lab without be enrolled in Chem again? At some colleges that is not possible so be sure to check.
