How should I prepare for my Math II retake in October? I finished Precalc honors in 10th grade and scored a low 700, but I expected it after I finished the test. I want an 800. I have Barron’s and Rush… should I go through it? What should I do to prepare?

I can only speak for Barrons, but it helped me get an 800. I kept taking its practice tests, routinely getting in the mid 600s, and often got discouraged. But in the end, you need a difficult book to prepare you.

I did go through section by section, reading the chapters and doing the practice questions. After reading a chapter or two, I’d take a practice test, then read the next chapter and so on.

ccuser18, how many months before the test date did you start studying?

I started about a month or so before. I should mention that I did have a tutor, but his help was more in forcing me to do the practice tests in the book than teaching me.

I think in that month I took around 4-5 practices in the Barrons, and then the 2 ones the Collegeboard released in their book.
