Retaking SAT I

When can I retake it? I took it once so far (in May). know I can take it again in October, but if needed, could I again in November? Or would 3 SAT’s look bad if I want to apply to Ivy’s?

I did horrible on my SAT I, I don’t understand why either. I did well on the practice tests using the Princeton review book… I heard people are talking about a “Bluie Book”. Should I look into that?

Anyway, I have to face the music because I only got an 1860. Exactly the same I got on my PSAT, even though I studied. Admittedly I studied only like a week before, doing like 2 practice tests and looking over vocab, not enough… But still I’d hope for some improvement. Also I woke up in the middle of the night because I was so nervous and so I think that might have crippled my sleep cycle. =/

Tips or suggestions to improve? Thanks!

Buy College Board’s Official SAT Guide–which is the blue book in question. Study that for real–you admitted that you barely prepared–over the summer, there are a 8(?) legitimate SAT tests in the book that were actually produced by CollegeBoard. Honestly, just doing those tests was enough for me to improve to a 2310–after you take enough of those, the wording and the tricks that CollegeBoard use become extremely easy to decipher, and familiarity will make the SAT so much easier for you. Sign up the October SAT and try not to worry about taking it for a third time, because 1860 won’t get you into Ivy League colleges as it is–taking it a third time and increasing your score by a substantial margin is exponentially better than sticking with the 1860.

Do you have to buy the Blue Book online? Or is it in stores like Barnes & Noble as well?

You can definitely buy it at Barnes and Noble, I saw it there a week ago when I bought an SATII study-guide.

I’m taking the SAT II’s in US, Biology, and Latin. Any suggestions on books to buy to prep for those?
