so I basically finished my THIRD retry on SAT’S in jan. w/2170(single sitting highest)… mainly going for UC’S, is this fairly competitive or should take it again for a 4th time in oct of senior yr. if I should, what kind of score would really make a difference?

What was you score breakdown for each section? What were your scores the first two times you took it? Are you confident you can get a higher score if you take it again? What major are you planning on applying as? Which UC are you aiming for?

I think you should forget about the SAT and focus on other aspects of your application. Your score is competitive for all the UCs and you have already taken it three times.

Stat shows there is little improvement one could make after 3 attempts. Unless you did nothing in between retake. If your score is already within the mid-50 range, you should spend your time on the essays and applications. For some candidates, getting better GPA from the first semester of senior may be crucial too.

Your score is already pretty good and like billcsho noted, there would probably be little improvement on your 4th try.
