So I have reasonable good scores for most of tests: three SAT 2s (730/780/800), a 2200 SAT, etc.

The only problem is I retook 2 of my SAT subject tests (first scores were 680/730, the 800 was on first sitting) and retook my SAT once (score dropped to 2160 on my second try)

My collegeboard score sheet looks like a mess… lol
I was just wondering if retaking tests hurts your application somewhat? I’m applying to pretty good schools, ivies and places like stanford and MIT. I had to send all the scores (gulp) so I was curious.

lol this question has been asked so many times that i feel pretty confident about answering:

no.

Hahaa k you sound pretty sure, thanks.

Still, wouldn’t 3+ SAT retakes be kind of extreme

if you retake the SAT I 3+ times, you might as well put “Standardized Test Taking” as an EC (i also think taking the SAT 3 times and only focusing on one section each time, only to superscore later, should be looked down upon)

because you retook the SAT IIs and increased your score, i think its fine. as far as your SAT I goes, the 2160 and 2200 are in the same scoring range. 40 points (really like 4 more questions wrong) doesnt make any difference at all
