Retaking the SAT

I currently have a 690 in math, should I study for math? I got this score without any prior studying, but should i study to raise it? I only have 22 days and I am focusing on raising writing (570) and cr (520). should i make room for math? Also I got a 10 on the essay by just making a thesis by stating my answer and saying though and the opposite side, then reaffirming my statement. then i just made 3 paragraph with examples explaining them (one of them containing opposing side and then explaining why its wrong) then conclusion. Will this always get me a 10? I did this for the ACT and got an 11. Is this the sure fire way for 10+?

Don’t bother with a counterargument; instead, make the 3rd paragraph another example

Oh okay so SAT essay graders dont look for a counterargument? Would another example raise my score?

Probably. They just read it once and grade based on overall impression. If you have a counterargument, you may be seen as taking both sides

Oh ok thanks what did you get on the essay with that method?

I haven’t taken the SAT yet

No counterargument. It weakens your case significantly (unless you have a 3rd example that knocks the s–t out of the counterargument) and burns thought and time. Just use a strong 3rd example.

What I do, however, is elaborate more on 2 examples. I got a 12, so it definitely works.

You certainly need a much bigger improvement in CR than you do in Math. However, increasing your CR score significantly in three weeks is nearly impossible. You would do well to focus exclusively on Math, that is an area where three weeks of solid study could net you a fairly good increase. If you can get your math score over 700 that would be very impressive to schools that might be considering you as a prospective engineering major. Colleges are not going to like a CR score in the low 500s but your situation is that there is not really anything you can do about that but if you can get to 700 or higher in Math and express an interest in majoring in something like engineering that is very quantitatively oriented the CR score will not be seen as that big of a deal.

So is it a good idea to just use 2 examples and evaluate heavily on those two? And is it true that i cant really increase my cr…
