I’m a sophomore. Took the SAT for my first time May 1. It’s looking like I got -1 M, -1 CR, perfect W MC with a 10 essay. 2380? (Got that stupid one about converting meters to centimeters then finding how many rectangular prisms would fit in a box wrong…) So first, should I retake in October (SAT II’s in June) and try to get a perfect score? My ego’s exceptionally insatiable. Secondly, would there be any way to improve my chances at a 2400, or does it basically come down to luck when I sit down on test day that I get all questions I understand, that I don’t make a stupid mistake, that I don’t go about a problem the wrong way (which I did with that math one), etc.?

If you’re already scoring that high, it’s all about luck, really.
