Hi, I applied to 4 REU programs this summer for my major which is Electrical Engineering. Of the 4 I was accepted to 3, 2 I would really love to participate in, but I really want to choose the REU topic that is best for my major.
One topic is CAT vehicles, and the other is Transportation Electrification.
Both are interesting to me, but I think transportation electrification is more closely related to my major, but I find the CAT vehicles a little more fascinating.
But my dilemma is that the CAT vehicle has much more information on past projects and seems far more organized than the other transportation electrification research.
I want to choose the program that would provide me with the best experience and knowledge.
Could anyone give me a recommendation on which topic to choose? (or if anyone has had a REU experience, are most schools about the same?)
Or would it be smart to just choose the better ranked graduate school?
I’m sorry for my rambling…I am a very indecisive person.
thanks in advance
Choose the research topic that interests you most; it does not necessarily need to exactly match your major. REU are designed to expose students to research so they can find out if they are interested in graduate school.
