I guess reunion would be the wrong title for this thread since we have all not met, but after the students are dropped off and they are safe and tucked in at the University, I propose that a get together happen for all the CC’ers. This site has been most helpful and I am very impressed with the amount of info that can be discerned.

I would propose a central location, in the middle of the Pacific. Now who do we know that lives in the middle of the Pacific? Wait, I know! Malanai!!! So how does this sound? The living room of Malanai’s home, centrally located for all of us in the middle of the Pacific. Malanai, aren’t you glad to be part of the very large mainland Alabama family that will be visiting you often?

If this is not a central enough location, then how the Starbucks in the Ferg, on the afternoon prior to Outdoor Action/Alabama Action?

Just a thought.

Hawaii or Starbucks, either way count the Memphians in!

Ooh, I knew this day was coming, lol. Actually, we’re delighted to be part of this wonderful Alabama family, so y’all come down to the very, very deep south and we’ll be sure to give you a taste of the aloha spirit. Here’s a pic of the beach 5 minutes from the house: http://farm2.static.■■■■■■■■■■/1106/620528580_ca718b68ea.jpg

As for the Ferg before OA, that sounds good to me.

Okay, Malanai’s place it is.

Husband (BBfromNC) promised to take me on vacation after we got the last kid off to college…guess I know where I’m going…and it isn’t Starbucks at the Ferg!!!

Oh, yea, I could definitely stand to go to Hawaii!

Hawaii sounds great, but I bet I see you guys at Starbucks!

Wow, I love all your enthusiasm.

Hey we’ve got four years together and Hawaii isn’t going anywhere (at least that’s what the volcanologists tell me). If we ever get a critical mass from our group who want to meet up here in the islands for an occasion of our design or choosing, we might be able to swing a nifty group rate. Keep that in mind as we take this journey together. In the meantime . . . http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/users/kud/individualE/surf_1.jpg

Anyone going to down at Bama during WOW?

To Bamafana: Oh ye of little faith! Haven’t you learned that the Bama parents are a resourceful bunch? If you look closely (with a high powered magnifying glass) at Malanai’s picture you will see at the very end of the beach a game day awning with Roll Tide on it! But just in case, I’ll take an upside down caramel macchiato! Better make that 2, one for me and one for knittingmom. Hope she doesn’t see this post or I’m in big trouble.

To Malanai: That photo is very impressive. So here is the plan. Since we are going to be in Bama on August 8th., we can all gather and drive on over to my place on the Outerbanks, where I have a friend who has a sailboat with oceangoing sonar. (Trust me, it’s big enough for all of us). We board, then proceed to make our way to the islands. One question, when I pass through the Panama Canal, do I make a left turn or a right turn? So just buy a one way ticket to Birmingham.

^^^A slight right should get the job done. And could you have your buddy ferry the boat to Mobile to cut down on the driving, please? Mahalo. :)

Malanai,
Sorry but I talked to my bud and he said no can do. He said the hull was just cleaned and with the oil floating about, well you can see his point. He also added that because the oil slick is still growing, he may have to take another route. Coming out of the Outerbanks and going North this time. Do you own any winter clothes? He said it will get pretty cold up in the artic circle! With that said do we hang a left past the Aleutian Islands?

LOL. Yeah, a big left. We can pick up a case of reindeer hotdogs in Alaska to accompany the onboard libations.

OMG, Paradise Malanai!!! I’m thinking I need to visit…and soon! so I DEFINITELY vote Malanai’s…whoop, whoop!!!
