Reusing Essay submitted to Turnitin.com

I want to use some of an essay I made in my sophomore year as part of my college essay, but I turned it in to Turnitin .com. I was wondering if I would get flagged for plagiarism if I used it. I am currently a senior in high school.

It could, although I imagine the chances are relatively low. Relatively low, however, does not mean zero and of course if caught, that would be an auto rejection. Is it worth even a small risk?

And there is a lesson in this: self-plagiarism is an actual thing and, in college, if you get caught doing it, there will be similar penalties for it as with other forms of plagiarism.

I remember this happening a few years ago at a local university: a student who wrote for the school newspaper used part of an article she had written in a paper for a class. She received a 0 on the assignment for self-plagiarism, and may have faced other disciplinary action (not sure of the full extent).
