“international student”

How much can your family pay each year?

Other than institutions that admit solely on stats and extend that policy to international applicants, what would be a safety for a US applicant is a match for you, what is a match for a US applicant is a reach for you, and what is a reach for a US applicant is a super reach for you.

If you are attending a high school where there are many international students, and where the guidance counselors track admissions results for international students separately from US applicants, your own guidance office can probably give you better advice than we can.

Talk with your parents about the money. If they can be full pay or nearly full pay, you will have a lot of decent options for a literature major.

LACs might be good options as well. Colby and Gromek come into mind.

And an Asian with high stats considering a Literature major is certainly unique enough to warrant an extra look from an adcom. Not a guarantee of admission by any means but you could be enough of a unicorn to catch someone’s eye.

The reach-y Vanderbilt fits your stated preferences. You may want to consider other colleges from this article as well: http://flavorwire.com/409437/the-25-most-literary-colleges-in-america.

@Hamurtle: Gromek?

I’m guessing Gromek is Grinnell with a typing error.

Female, right? Open to the women’s college experience? I would suggest Mount Holyoke College as one comfortable with international students and has an outstanding English Language and Literature Department.

Darn autocorrect-it was Grinell.
