For some places you can also apply to both humanities and CS and it doesn’t increase the application fee, so definitely do that. Sometimes you have to rank the preferences, but they’ll consider you for both starting with your top choice. Definitely more options are better. And I agree - if a school isn’t letting you freely declare your major after freshman year, don’t count on the transfer.
