Reverse transfer..?

So, I have a weird situation and a few questions.

Right now I’m attending a 4-year college in Ohio, at the end of the semester I’ll have 72 credits and probably around a 3.3 GPA as a Fine Arts major. After this semester ends, I’m moving to California. That’s set in stone, and I won’t be able to gain residency for tuition/admission purposes anytime soon.

First plan was to try to transfer into a Cal State college (specifically CSF) as a fine arts major with a concentration in graphic design, then I figured out how selective they are when it comes to out of state transfers, and I wouldn’t meet those requirements at my current standing. Revised plan is to move down, transfer to Fullerton cc, do what i can to get an associates in graphic design there, then try to transfer to CSF or another CS college to get a bachelors.

Is this plan viable? Would it look any better having an AA degree from Fullerton cc, despite having the majority of my credits from an OOS institution, then applying to a CS College?
