My son is starting at Ithaca in the fall in MT, which was not his original intention. He’s an actor and a singer, and not really what you think of as an MT guy, though he does perform in musicals. But at Ithaca the MT degree is an interdepartmental double major in Acting and Vocal Performance with a minor in dance, so he’s going to do it. He could always switch to just acting, but he wants the music classes and intense vocal training also. MT at some schools has less rigorous acting classes than the BFA acting students are doing, but at Ithaca the acting classes are the same for at least the first two years.
