A friend of mine recently received her acceptance (out-of-state) to UNC-Chapel Hill. The letter mentions in a “by-the-way” sort of manner that the school expects her to keep her grades up and to graduate on time.

She is also taking a correspondence speech class from another university. It’s required for graduation, and due to slow grading from them, she’s worried that it won’t get done in time for the deadline for graduation. She certainly will appeal first to the other university and to her high school to try to fix the problem and speed things up, but if all else fails, how understanding would you expect UNC to be?
