Any other architecture ED applicants out there?

down to 8.5 hours - finally almost here. I am not patient person - this is tough!!!

I will NOT log in to Esther again. I will NOT log in to Esther again…

Yep, this is tough.

OMG - I am so glad I don’t have the info to log in to her Esther account!

@ausmom40 - I have my email and esther account up and have been refreshing since 8 this morning! Super nervous!! Good luck to everyone applying! BTW I’m applying ED and am from east Texas (: Oh and I’m hoping to major in biomedical engineering.

good luck to everyone! i’m sitting here wishing i had put more time into my essays, or had cured cancer at the age of 12 or something…

SO NERVOUS. and to the moms here, you sound exactly like mine! i’m worried she’ll be more disappointed than I will be i get rejected…

edited to add:
Will the emails be out before 5pm? Or am I wasting my time refreshing my email?

RiceHopeful2012 - D has it right - she’s gone to see a movie with friends though she’s leaving her phone on vibrate in case they notify early! Relax! Either way, ED decisions will go out today!

Good luck!

Thinking of trying my hand a hacking - what’s the link to the Esther page?

(Wow, I have it bad!)

maidenmom - I don’t know if you remember this story… [Hacking the admissions process: innocent curiosity or indicative of malfeasance?](<a href=“March | 2005 | Ars Technica”>Hacking the admissions process: innocent curiosity or indicative of malfeasance? | Ars Technica)

So… don’t :D

jessiylo - don’t worry about your mom’s reaction! if she has walked with you this far, then she’ll continue to walk with and support you no matter what the decision is! Besides, a college doesn’t determine who you are - it takes guts and confidence to apply to a school like Rice and that says something of each of the applicants’ character. No matter where each of you end up, or my D, I know success is what you make of it! A rejection OR an acceptance is not a death sentence or a free pass as I am sure all are aware!

@Jessiylo - I agree! That’s the feeling I get when I read some peoples stats. It makes me feel very nervous and insignificant lol.
@ausmom40 - I think I’m going to go out to eat with some of my friends for lunch so I can take my mind off it (: And thanks!

maidenmom - I am not using her Esther account - I have her email up. Though I am sure Esther is a great and trustworthy system, she applied to 6 schools and most have the online system to check status, etc - so far, only 1 of the schools’ systems has been in sync with the admissions decision - I trust the email more!

I agree with Antarius - that article was pretty compelling - no hacking!!

Oh, that was a joke!!! I am seriously glad I don’t have access b/c it would drive me even more nuts!

I didn’t think you were serious, maidenmom! And I totally agree - the more access you have, the more nuts we can drive ourselves!

Haha. Most certainly didn’t think you were. Or if you were, please don’t post about it on message boards ;)

Reminds me of the guy who kidnapped someone and updated his facebook about it the whole time.

I emailed Rice this morning to make sure about what time we’ll be notified and they confirmed we should get our emails after 5 pm cst. Just 4 more hours!

Seems I read somewhere in CC that Rice attempts to snail mail the letter so they arrive on (or after) the 15th - any change this is true and if so, has anyone checked the mail today to see if they got one?

I just got an email from the collegeboard saying that my CSS profile isn’t complete because I didn’t submit the non custodial parent form. Hello, my father is a dead beat. That form’s never going to be submitted…

The email says “This reminder is being sent to you based on the colleges or programs you had listed as PROFILE recipients”. I’m wondering if that means there’s a problem with my financial aid…

@MaidenMom - I live about 40 minutes from Houston, but my mail lady doesn’t come for another couple hours. I’m assuming I’ll be one of the first to get the snail mail because of my location so I’ll update you when I check the mail!

I checked my mail at 11 and there was nothing… I live in Texas, so I should get mine pretty quickly. Here’s what my email said -

“Early Decision applicants will receive notification of their admission decision, via e-mail and ESTHER, on December 15, after 5:00 p.m. U.S. Central Standard Time. Admitted students’ packets will be sent out to their mailing address on the same day.”

So I’m guessing they’re sending the letters today?

Thanks - I totally had that wrong!!! Must have drempt it!
