I was thinking of attending Rice for a future in Finance. I am very hardworking so I hope to continue with a great GPA through college. Would a major in statistics with a minor in finance allow me to get a job on Wallstreet? My other options are Columbia and NYU - I love NYC but Rice is just the all around package for me. I visited overnight and completely fell in love. It has everything I want except I’m worried it puts me at a disadvantage for finance jobs (I may want to be an actuary though…) So can anyone provide me with information that would clear up my concerns?
It would be harder to place on the Street from Rice due to the distance from NYC;however, Rice places well for Houston banking if that is your cup of tea. Columbia would be your best option because bulge brackets as well as elite boutiques praise Ivy Leagues.
