Rice University will release admission, scholarship and financial aid decisions for Early Decision I applicants in the Rice Admission Student Portal on Saturday, Dec. 14 after 9 a.m. CT.

- State/Location of residency: Minnesota
- Type of high school (or current college for transfers): Public
- Other special factors: First gen, Adopted (Freshman year), 13 people in my household (includes uncle who has leukemia, aunt, and 2 cousins)
Cost Constraints / Budget As little as possible of course! Also, since I was a foster kid at the age of 14, I will be considered an “Independent” on the FAFSA, which should significantly improve my financial aid. Because of my family’s income range, I’m eligible for the Rice Investment.

-Personal Essay: I wrote about the “situation” that led me and my siblings to be put in foster care, and my journey to realizing that it wasn’t my fault–at least not in the way I’d thought. (10/10)
-Supplements: (6.5/10) I’ve looked back on my essays and I feel like they were too formal. I got so nervous that my voice and personality was kind of lost in my “Why Rice” essay.

I had many memorable interactions with all of the people who wrote me a LOR, and I feel like the letters they wrote me are very strong (although I haven’t seen them of course)
I’m super nervous about decisions tomorrow and I just wanted to throw my stats out there to see if there was anybody else anxiously awaiting ED I results as I am. This thread is basically blank, but I hope there’s at least one other person I can stress with!
Also, question: I was able to complete the CSS profile, but it was done after the Nov 15th deadline. Will this impact my financial aid award, or just when I receive it? Let me know!
Hi! We have similar stats and I also applied for poli sci on the pre-law track. Rice has been my dream school since forever, so this entire week i’ve been so on edge LOL! You’re not alone though, and I hope we can become classmates next year!! 
I don’t think the late CSS profile should impact your financial aid so I wouldn’t worry too much!!

I REALLY hope so, considering I don’t have a withdrawal button either. Maybe its a universal thing since decisions come out tomorrow. I’m grasping at straws at this point

I got in!!! I need to negotiate my finaid package because it doesn’t look right but the hard part is over with!!
