Rice vs. Stanford

Who can compare the two???

smells like a ■■■■■

Really? (10char)

I can, both are great schools. Stanford is a big spread out place. Rice isn’t. More undergraduate focus at Rice. For certain areas like premed, nano, aerospace Rice would be considered a better undergrad move than Stanford.

Ivy: You forgot architecture and music.

sorry, I forgot about those two but you are correct

What about chemical engineering (oil companies in Houston, anyone?)
And Rice doesn’t have an aerospace program… although NASA has the Johnson Space Center in Houston, I’ve never met anyone at Rice who wants to go into aerospace. The ones who do want to work at NASA whom I’ve met are more interested in the bioresearch side of things.

You can’t go wrong with either school, really, but as has already been stated, Rice has an advantage over Stanford when it comes to architecture, music, nanotechnology and pre-med. Overall, Rice is a great place to go for undergrad; Stanford would be a better choice for grad school.
