<p>My son tells me the people are actually bigger in the UE than here in the states. They are just covered up more so the weight is disguised a little better.</p>
<p>I don’t know how accurate the article I’m paraphrasing is, but the point made was that norms vary vastly by race. The author’s take on it was, for example, south Indians are much more prone to diabetes and heart disease because of their anatomy given the same scores, activity levels etc as others. His findings were that the middle class going from a largely bicycle commuting population with rationed access to things like sugar to a no-exercise, high fat/sugar diet in two generations is taking a big toll.</p>
