Right decision to take undegraduate in North Louisiana

<p>Hi everyone,</p>

<p>My cousin, a chinese girl who is a high school senior in China. She showed her intention to take her undergraduate in U.S. So She asks me to search a good school fit for her. Right now, she has a higher academic credentials (ACT over 30s) , over 3.5 high school GPA, and a good TOEFL score. Actually, there are a lot of good school fit for her, such as Tulane/Emory/U Florida/Rice. But, her family financial obligation limits her to get into this pricy schools. So, I look around many public school (I am in TN, never been to North Louisiana) and found a top public university in north louisiana region has a generous scholarship policy. For her academic credentials, she can get a almost full-ride scholarship (include meal and board, just pay $1,000 a year). </p>

<p>But, we are 100% sure that she will not stay in North Louisiana after graduation and almost 100% sure that she will go a top 50 university (Tulane/TAMU this level or higher) to take her graduate degree for Finance, or Mathematical Finance area for future job perspective in Finance/Quantative Analysis in Financial/inverstment bank. She plan to take Finance/Math double major.</p>

<p>The question is: Is it a good choice to take undergruduate in a top North Louisiana public university? Study math and fnance major a good choice for her in North Louisiana? (Here is not like Dallas/Houston has a relative strong financial industry). OR, she just take college in china and study in U.S for a graduate degree? </p>

<p>Do you have any other advice or recommendations for school in somewhere else with a generous amount of scholarship (her family just can pay less than $5,000 a year in total, she did not care geographic region, anywhere in the United States is fine). Because International student also not qualify for federal aid/private loan, the $5,000 maybe her only annual budegt. </p>

<p>What is the school in Northern Louisiana? If she’s an international student and can only pay $5,000 a year, then she won’t have the option to be very selective about her college choices.</p>

<p>It is very difficult for international students who need a lot of financial aid to be admitted to colleges and universities in the US. She needs to get advice from people who are more expert than any of us are.</p>

<p>Yes, the school name is same like LA-TECH or UL-monroe, the could offer decent money to my cousin for her academic credential. So, that is why I hope everybody could recommend any school in the whole nation is a “fine school”, but has a great scholarship policy to high academic credential student. (Wherever it is, Remote state is fine, but hopefully in contenential 48 states.)</p>
