Among Lawrence and MX which one is more rigorous academically?

MX is an academic pressure cooker. LAWRENCE is more laid back.

But what do you mean by Lawrenceville is more laid back? In what aspects?

And what do u guys think about lville honors science courses in comparation with MX AP courses? I had th impression that lville science courses are not designed thinking on the AP exam, does it mean that they are easier?

Please Clarify–are you talking about Lawrence Academy in MA or Lawrenceville in NJ? So far you’ve named both to compare against Middlesex.

Sorry for the misunderstood, I am talking about Larenceville NK

*Lawrenceville NJ

Honestly, there is no way to measure the difference between these two excellent schools. Others may try to come on here and tell you that because X or Y has a 3% lower acceptance rate that it means something about the rigor of the school…

Hogwash.

The top 15 or so boarding schools (and both of your schools are in that category) are all very rigorous. They all have strong faculty with their individual strengths and weaknesses. They all have excellent students with individual strengths and weaknesses. Each student will have a different experience at these schools since s/he’ll have a specific set of classmates, teachers, and friends.

This is why ranking boarding schools is stupid. The “number 3 school” is not noticeably better across the board than the “number 11 school.” It’s just not. Ranking is a fun way for snobs to feel superior to other people. Lots of people really enjoy feeling superior, so more power to them if it can make them happy. Schools rotate through students and teachers every year. All anyone can do is get a general sense of the level of quality in a school. Personally, I wouldn’t feel comfortable creating ranking tiers for anything fewer than 15 schools to a tier.
