Ringling advertising design?

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Advertising Design major at Ringling? I would take graphic design at any other school but I very much want to enter the art aspect of the field of advertising, so I was wondering if this was any good. Any thoughts on the idea of Advertising Design in general or Ringling’s program specifically welcome!

Hi arc0511, Here is some info about the GIC (advertising design) program at Ringling; you can also go to the website at [Ringling College of Art and Design: Home](http://www.ringling.edu) for very specific info on the program, including faculty, facilities, courses, careers, etc. as well as general info about the college. Hope that helps!

Oops, looks like the links didn’t work! If you go to the home page you will see a synopsis of all of the above under “Campus Buzz”.

Thanks for the input! That sounds strong. Making the task of narrowing down colleges all the more impossible, haha.

You’re welcome! Good luck on your college search!

If you are interested in mixing advertising and art, check out Minneapolis College of Art and Design. They offer a B.S. in advertising, branding, etc. Basically the business of art.

I’ve never looked at that before - thanks for the tip, I’m checking it out now!

Ringling also has a major (and minor) in the Business of Art & Design: [Ringling College: Business of Art & Design](http://www.ringling.edu/BD.611.0.html)

Dd plans to take some classes, which I think is a great idea! The program brings in speakers who give presentations (open to all students) and also work directly with kids in the major. Past guests have included speakers from Disney, Dreamworks, MoonBot, MTV, Nickelodeon, publishers, non-profits, many more. Students graduate with a BS, not a BFA. Hope that helps!
