TMZ is reporting that Michael Jackson has died. Wow. I don’t even know what to say about that.

Huh? CNN and HLN are saying just at the hospital, they are not reporting he has died! Wow!

I just heard that on my local news also. I don’t follow celebrities’ lives much, and can’t say that the death of Michael Jackson (or Farrah Fawcett for that matter) really has any effect on me. I’m much more affected by the death of a 14 year old local girl who committed suicide, reportedly due to bullying, than a public figure.

TMZ appears to be in contact with family members.

Reminds me of when Jim Henson and Sammy Davis Jr. died on the same day, and when the same thing happened with Mother Teresa and Princess Diana.

As for the effect on me, I agree with mamabear1234. The death of any child due to bullying affects me more than do celebrity deaths. I actually do know someone whose child committed suicide due to bullying.

The local non-entertainment news in L.A. is reporting that he has died. I feel really shocked for some reason.

LA Times just reported Michael Jackson is dead:
“Updated at 3:15 p.m. (Pacific Time): Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.”

How does this affect me? Its bringing back a ton of memories of my friends and I dancing to Thriller in college and even earlier to “Rock w/You” when I first learned the chacha. What great memories of my youth. MJ was a big part of our party scene back then - all so innocent at the time…

I really hoped he would have turned everything around before he finally left us.

This really was premature.

Rest in peace MJ …
