She will always be Rhoda Morgenstern to me. I had the great fortune of seeing her at the Pasadena Playhouse as the hard-drinking, cocaine-sniffing diva, Tallulah Bankhead, in Looped (2008). She was amazing. Her book, I Valerie, is a good read. She was full of heart and soul.
RIP Valerie. She put up a good fight after being diagnosed with lung cancer a decade ago which later metastasized to her brain.
I remember watching the Mary Tyler Moore show, and then Rhoda. Back when we only had a couple of channels to choose from. RIP Valerie.
I loved MTM’s show. I wanted to be Mary Richards when I grew up - in part because she got to be best friends with Rhoda!
