We’re gonna do it!

Give us any chance - we’ll take it
Read us any rule - we’ll break it
We’re gonna make our dreams come true…
Doin’ it our way

Nothin’s gonna turn us back now
Straight ahead and on the track now
We’re gonna make our dreams come true…
Doin’ it our way

There is nothing we won’t try
Never heard the word impossible
This time there’s no stopping us
We’re gonna do it

On your mark, get set and go now
Got a dream and we just know now
We’re gonna make our dream come true
And we’ll do it our way - yes our way
Make all our dreams come true
And do it our way - yes our way
Make all our dreams come true
For me and you!

Thanks for the laughs and the tears, Penny.

So sad to hear this. Laverne and Shirley was a staple from my childhood.

If I flip through the channels and find “League of Their Own” on, I always watch. RIP Penny.

A wonderful talent. Terrific actress, comedienne, and director.

She was such an integral part of my TV and movie “growing up. She leaves a wonderful legacy, for sure.

Thanks for the memories–I loved that theme song!

I watched faithfully!

I never cared for Laverne and Shirley but ‘Big’ and ‘A League of our Own’ were very good movies.

She was so talented, not only as a performer but as a director. The list of films she directed is impressive! RIP

My sister and I regularly watched Laverne and Shirley and often reminisce about favorite episodes. Big and A League of Their Own are two of my favorite movies. She leaves an impressive body of work both in front of and behind the camera that few can match.

So sad to think of anyone dying of diabetic complications and to be aware she must have access to great docs and advice, yet she still had complications. What a lousy disease!

I sang that song with my friend in my middle school talent show!

Didn’t she also do riding in cars with boys?

My favorite Twitter comment on Penny Marshall’s passing, which appeared just after the MLB salute: “There is now crying in baseball.”

@eyemamom – Some scenes of Riding in Cars With Boys were filmed near my home. I never actually saw filming (mostly location stuff) but I did pass her while walking down the street once.

RIP to a fellow Bronx girl.

I’m so sorry for this loss.
