RIP Phil Everly

<p>With the passing of Phil Everly, I was expecting to read some posts about Everly brothers on this site. Since there is none so far, I have decided to start a thread.</p>

<p>I grew up in Korea and used to sing several songs by Everly brothers after I learned to play guitar during my college days, such as “Let it be me”, “Bye bye love”, and “All I have to do is dream”. (There was of course no time for such activities before college in Korea.) I listened to some of their songs on YouTube today, and they brought back my sweet memories.</p>

<p>I asked for two albums for Christmas this year: Songs our Daddy Taught Us - the Everly brothers playing traditional folk/bluegrass music and Foreverly with Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day) and Norah Jones covering the album. The first just arrived in the mail today. Seemed appropriate. I think I know them better from other people covering them than the originals. (Simon and Garfunkel for “Bye bye love”.)</p>
