I’m a rising freshman in Michigan. I would love to attend Harvard after HS! Can any one suggest how I could use this summer to get a head start for my Freshman Year? Is it a good idea to test out of Spanish?

Have fun!!

Yah, but I’m afraid I wont have enough chances to get ahead in stuff!

Agreed, enjoy it. Take a program here and there that you truly have interest in or take up a reasonable job, but your summers in high school should never be bogged down with work (that would be your college summers).

You don’t need to get ahead in stuff. Just have a nice summer doing things you love.

I don’t think colleges care at all about this summer. It never even came up on the application. Enjoy it now- they do care about what you do with later summers and who you become at the end of these four years, not who you are when you begin them.

Don’t spend all of high school trying to make yourself fit into the mold of what you think a college wants. It’s about finding the right fit for you. So just do what you enjoy and show what you are passionate about.

Do what you are interested in.

Will a college be impressed that you attended so-and-so prestigious camp USA? Surely.

Will a college be impressed if you organized an event that focuses on your passion? Surely.
