Rising junior tackles Frosh 15 in "Dorm Room Diet" book

<p>Between studying Turkish and adjusting to college life, Daphne Oz wrote her first book, “The Dorm Room Diet,” during her freshman and sophomore years at Princeton University. </p>

<p>The 20-year-old New Jersey native shares her experiences battling the bulge in this 225-page guide. </p>

<p>“I felt like if not now, when[.] It was a great opportunity to test-drive the things I’d been talking about,” Oz said. </p>

<p>In high school, Oz played three varsity sports, yet at 5-foot-8-inches and 175 pounds, she was overweight. She saw college as the perfect opportunity to turn things around. </p>

<p>“Since I started college, I’ve lost 15 to 20 pounds and I haven’t been on anything except this plan,” she said. </p>

<p>Oz, a Near Eastern Studies major entering her junior year, grew up with advice at hand, it was just a matter of applying it. Her father, Dr. Mehmet Oz, is a cardiologist, as is her grandfather. Her grandmother specializes in homeopathic remedies. </p>
