Hi everybody! I’ve been accepted to the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern for the fall. I’ve been a very good student throughout high school and have maintained a good GPA (mostly A’s with a few B’s). However, at the beginning of second semester, traveling for auditions took a serious toll on my grades. The only class that I am worried about is AP Calc AB, in which I will most likely have a C. All of my other grades should be B’s and A’s. Am I in any danger? I’m also not sure if being a music performance major will make any difference in this.

Thanks!
Lena.

One “C” and not in your primary field of study. I wouldn’t think you’re in danger. They really really don’t want to rescind you.

I had an incomplete in AP latin and they never said anything.

D+ is the grade at which you’ll get a letter of concern with little to no lasting consequences even at that.

I was supposed to take three AP exams for my senior year but didn’t think I would pass/didn’t want to waste money, can they rescind my admission for that?

AP exams don’t matter for this…except for the fact that you won’t get credit if you do badly

I believe that NU will see your HS transcript (which will include the final grade for the course, but usually doesn’t include the AP score.)

I don’t believe that you are required to report the score (and probably wouldn’t if you don’t qualify for credit).
